This project represented one of the first 6-star hotels constructed in Australia, commissioned by the same owner behind the renowned Grand Hyatt. Immediately following the completion of the adjacent Casino development, the client engaged an iconic Tier 1 head contractor to deliver this ambitious and high-profile project.
The development comprised a striking high-rise hotel tower, complemented by two smaller flanking towers situated at the cathedral end of the precinct, together forming a signature architectural statement. In addition to the hotel facilities, the project integrated luxury residential apartments and the Peter MacCallum Cancer Institute building, creating a multi-use precinct that blended hospitality, residential, and healthcare within one coordinated master development.
The complexity of the project demanded rigorous planning, governance, and coordination between multiple stakeholders, ensuring compliance with strict regulatory requirements and delivering a facility of international standard.
